Michel Schumacher was born in 1951 in Freudenstadt, in Germany. After having lived in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Germany and in the south of France, today he lives and works in Strasbourg. He has been painting since 1970, at the beginning in figurative productions. Since 1996, he radically turned towards a work of abstraction on color and shapes, with, as a filigree, a reflection on writing, to support or illustrate the artistic expression. To oil painting on canvas he added painting on Plexiglas, creating animated and lit volumes of aluminum and Plexiglas. Michel Schumacher regularly exhibits in France, especially in Alsace and Lorraine, his region, as well as in Europe, in Lisbon or Dusseldorf.
