Nigel Ratcliffe-Springall was born in 1954 and studied Fine Art in York School of Art and in bath Academy of Art (1973-1977). Since the early 1990s he is working as a professional sculptor. He lives and work in Crete, an island whose Art and Mythology have fascinated him. He makes portraits to commission and small-scale limited edition sculptures usually in Terracotta and Pewter.
